Itinerary stops

Selva dei Frati - Ripadventure Adventure Park
The itinerary begins at the Selva dei Frati, a green lung located just outside the historic center of Ripatransone. This forest of ancient oaks has been transformed into an adventure park offering suspended courses among the trees, suitable for all ages. In addition to recreational activities, the Selva dei Frati is a place of naturalistic importance, ideal for relaxing walks immersed in nature.

Ripani Badlands
The Ripatransone badlands are one of the most evocative natural spectacles in the Piceno area, a rugged and dramatic landscape that speaks to the strength of nature and the fragility of the soil. Formed by the erosion of clayey soils, sparse in vegetation and easily molded by water, they appear as deep, parallel furrows that create sharp ridges and continually transforming valleys.
Their origins likely date back to the Holocene, when the deforestation of ancient evergreen oak forests made the clay slopes vulnerable to climate and rainfall. Runoff, landslides, and mudslides did the rest, shaping the characteristic "knife-blade cuts" that still enchant visitors today.
Different from the more gentle Biancane hills, the badlands offer an almost lunar landscape, where the contrast between the rugged shapes and the gentleness of the surrounding Marche hills creates a unique visual impact. They are a fascinating natural heritage, a living reminder of the area's geological history, and an ideal place for those who love to observe nature's creative and erosive power up close.

Colle di Guardia Woods
South of Ripatransone lies the Colle di Guardia Forest, a green oasis that preserves the authentic charm of the Marche landscape. The area, crossed by the Tesino River, extends between hills and valleys, offering a truly evocative natural setting.
Among centuries-old trees and lush vegetation, the forest is the ideal place for those who love trekking, leisurely walks, or simply quiet moments in contact with nature. The paths that crisscross it lead to unexpected panoramic views, where the view extends to the sea and the Apennines.
A place of peace and spontaneous beauty, the Colle di Guardia Forest is an invitation to rediscover the connection with the land and the environment that has always accompanied the life of the Piceno communities.

SIC "Woods between Cupramarittima and Ripatransone"
The final stop leads to the Site of Community Importance (SCI) "Boschi tra Cupra Marittima e Ripatransone," a protected area spanning 1,223 hectares between the two municipalities. This area is characterized by remarkable biodiversity, with deep valleys that snake inland and a variety of natural habitats. The trails are suitable for hikers of all levels and offer the opportunity to immerse yourself in a pristine environment, rich in the region's typical flora and fauna.
