Built in the 13th century, the church underwent a complete restoration in the 18th century, when the painted coffered ceiling was created. The semicircular portico was built during the same period, designed by Luzio Bonomi. It preserves 14th-century frescoes and an octagonal canvas depicting the Madonna and Child, Saint Catherine of Siena, and Saint Shepherd by an unknown Marattesque painter (late 17th century). It is annexed to the Institute of the Pious Convictors of Charity (Teresian Sisters).
